Value for money
Chartier is a hidden gem - by Paris standards the food is cheap; the whole experience is worth the wait outside - no queue jumping, even if being made to wait is not your usual style, it is worth it! Country dishes at their best in period surroundings. Chartier is a real treat we enjoy each time we visit the city.

This is a wonderful restaurant if you want to eat where the locals go. We were recommended Chartier by the locals and had a great night. It's noisy, busy and the food's good. We had the best night but dont go if you want a flash meal in quiet sorrounds!

Slightly tired fin de siecle brasserie atmosphere that probably hasn't changed much in 100 years. Downright simple food that is what it is. Don't expect haute cuisine but you won't pay haute cuisine prices. Get there early or expect to queue, very busy later. Guide price 48 euros for two with wine, certainly very good value for money in an expensive city. Waiters mostly friendly-ish.
