I have trouble believing the negative comment below, but no restaurant can hit 100% all of the time, and since the comment was by a French person I can only imagine that the writer was unfamiliar with Ethiopian cuisine.

I have been to most of the Ethiopian restaurants in Paris, as well as several in the United States. Lac Tana is by far the best in terms of cuisine and value. The family is very, very friendly, and if the service is incredibly slow it is because every dish is cooked to order by the wife(?), in the order in which it is received. So don't go here if you're in a hurry.

If you're not in a hurry, GO HERE! Take the discovery plate, and if you're not huge eaters an adult and a child can split one and feel satisfied. Delicious. The injera (pancake bread) is the freshest I've had, consistently. And I've eaten at Lac Tana six times.

If you're unfamiliar with Ethiopian food, and you love Indian/Thai food (with their delicate mastery of spices) and crepes, then Ethiopian - and Lac Tana in particular - is/are for you.

Really amazing Ethioian food. Better than anything I've had in North America!
