Value for money

This is the most unprofessional, discriminatory and disrespectful place I've ever been! I tried to eat there after reading a recommendation somewhere on the internet, but after waiting for more than 40 minutes to get a seat when I finally got a place to seat, the woman behind the counter told me to leave that seat because other people would sit there. When questioned, she yelled “This is my place so I can do what I want”. Other clients tried to intervene in my favor, questioning that they do not operate on “First come, first serve basis”, but all that followed was pure display of rudeness, ignorance and swearing. I’ve truly never been so mistreated as client anywhere in the world!

Time - Oct 22 Lunch Why - Atmosphere. Difficult to get a spare seat since there are many people waiting around. Food - plenty of selection, but specialize in seafood Quality - We tried the seafood combo, fried asparagus, and a fish with a red pepper and tomato sauce. We may have order the wrong food as all the food has no seasoning when they grill them. Sauce is good and quite special Overall - I will not recommend one to go unless you know Spanish and how to read their menu. We order 3 plates and being charged for EURO 61 (Combo - 25, Asparagus - 18, Fish - 18) , which we think is not worth for money or the wait at all.

Stayed in Barcelona 4 days, went here every day, excellent food, ask them to just cook for you if you don't know what to order. Try the fried peppers various tortillas, "tomato bread" and the serrano ham. You cna't go wrong and the market is fun to explore.

I have visited Bar Central twice - Feb 2008 & August 2008.
Don't be put off by having to wait 10/15/20 mins for a chair - I Promise You IT IS WELL WORTH IT! - Probably the best morning/lunchtime food within walking distance of the Rambla. Hasta Luego!
