This restaurant is a great place to go a on a cold winter's day or in late Fall when you really want to stoke up on carbs. If you think that French restaurants tend to be a little stingy with their portions, you haven't eaten at Le Plomb du Cantal.
Try the 'truffade' aka au gratin potatoes which they will heap on your plate until you beg for mercy. Bring your appetite with you when you come here. Our waiter had a keen, sardonic sense of humor. I would not advise going there in the middle of a summer heat wave.
