More and more people are using their phones to help them find a place to eat, whether you’re out with friends in a new neighbourhood and want to find the best addresses in the area or you’re having a drink with colleagues after work and just need to find the phone number of the italian restaurant round the corner. Or maybe you’re spending the weekend in a new city and want to try out the local specialities.  We’ve just updated our mobile website to help you in all these situations. Some of the new features include :

  • If you’re in a new place and you’re looking for somewhere to eat, we’ll show you all the restaurants around your current position.
  • You can create a list of your favourite restaurants or places you’d like to visit. You can add restaurants to your list via the links on our mobile site or the full version of the web site. You can then see your selection on a map of the area, or list them by town.  Very useful if you’re planning a weekend away somewhere, as you can prepare and save your list in advance.
  • See all your recent activity (restaurants you have added, photos you’ve uploaded or comments) on your profile page.
  • If you’re looking for something in particular, you can still search for a restaurant by price, cuisine, name or location.

Available on your iPhone or Android phone, you don’t even need to download an app, just visit our site on your mobile, or bookmark the address m.eat-out.net

For those who prefer to download an app on your phone or tablet, stay tuned, our apps are coming soon.

New feature – search for a restaurant by general cuisine type.

October 2, 2012 – 12:40 pm

We’ve just launched a nice new feature to make it easier to find great restaurants on Eat-Out.net. When you search for a restaurant, you can now see results grouped by cuisine type. For example, if you like asian cuisine, you can now see
all Chinese, Thai, Korean, Vietnamese and Vietnamese restaurants in your town on the same page, rather than searching separately. Or maybe you fancy south American cuisine. You can now find all the Argentine, Chilean, Brazilian, Peruvian restaurants and more in the same place.

Feel free to try out the new feature on our restaurant search page, and let us know what you think, or if we’ve missed your favourite cuisine.

Other times, you might be looking to discover a new restaurant, or take advantage of a special offer. To help you in your search we’ve added a few new features to our homepage. You can now see a few of the most recently added restaurants, recent comments and a selection of the special offers and reductions you can take advantage of in your town.  Take a look now, and let us know if there’s anything else you’d like to see added to help you search for the best restaurants in London or other towns.
